Olivia Sykes

Senior Nurse

I started working at Calder Vets in January 2013, I already had a qualification in Animal Care and Handling which I achieved Distinction* back in 2010. I have worked with animals since 2009, where I first started volunteering at local kennels with both dogs and cats.

In 2010 I also volunteered at an exotic rehoming centre which widened my knowledge and confidence in handling all kinds of animals.

Since working a Calder Vets I have enjoyed all the aspects of the job such as Surgical Nursing, Medical Nursing and the one on one attention you can give to any patient whilst recovering in hospital.

I am currently the Senior Nurse at our new Halton branch which I’m really enjoying.  It’s great getting to know all our new clients and their pets.

I have cats at home which I spend a lot of time with, including a new kitten who is very cheeky.
