Elisabeth Marco-Hilsdon

Veterinary Surgeon

I was born in Barcelona, Spain. I qualified from Barcelona Veterinary College (UAB) in 2011. After that, I gained experience working at the Veterinary University hospital critical care unit, several small animal practices in Barcelona and Madrid and also collaborating with an animal rescue centre in my spare time.

I always wondered what it would be like, to work in England. This was inspired by my mum’s roots as she was born in the UK and in April 2013 the opportunity came up and I couldn’t resist! After joining Calder Vets in January 2014, where I have had the opportunity of working at all of the branches. At present, based in the area of Sandal, Wakefield and Horbury where I enjoy working every day. I do like all aspects of small animal general practice, with special interest in medicine and soft tissue surgery.

Together with my partner and our lovely springer spaniel Charlie Brown rescued 2 years ago from Dewsbury hospital, we dedicate our spare time to exploring Yorkshire and what I have recalled the 8th wonder -the Yorkshire Dales, where I try to go  whenever we have the opportunity. I also enjoy travelling, skiing and spending time with my family.
