Amanda Martin

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated in June 2003 from Cambridge University and my first job was at a predominantly small animal practice in Ipswich. In 2007 my husband and I made the move north to be closer to our families and I started work at Calder Vets. However, I was not a completely new face as I had spent time “seeing practice” with them whilst at school and university. I’ve always wanted to work with the smaller species (cats, dogs, rabbits, etc) but I do find it difficult to choose a favourite part of the job, I love the variety as much as anything. The most satisfying aspect of my job is knowing we offer the best care for our clients and their pets, and one thing I try to remember is how I feel about my own pets. Outside of work I try to organise a chaotic house of husband, children, dogs and cat!
