Calder pack assemble for Pretty Muddy charity run

Calder Vets Pretty Muddy 5k team

A team of ladies from Calder Vets are putting their best feet forward to push themselves through a gruelling multi-terrain obstacle challenge, all in the name of charity.

Pretty Muddy is a 5K run organised by Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research UK and involves crawling through mud pits, climbing over obstacles and running through water.

Staff members Helen Meegan, Hayley Buddery, Tracy Hemingway, Tiegan Milnes, Amy Crispin, Hannah Johnson, Olivia Crowther, Nicola Shires-Mcguire, Philippa Royston, Kirsty Clark, Gemma Kilby and Caitlyn Summers have all signed up for the event at Temple Newsam, Leeds this Saturday.

Tracy, Calder’s practice manager said: “I’ve never done anything like this before but I will have a go at anything. I’m doing it for the team and I’m definitely up for the challenge!

“Cancer is an illness that can have an impact on all of us, which is why this is a worthy cause close to our hearts and encouraged us to participate in this event.”

Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent cancer research and awareness charity, which aims to reduce the number of deaths from cancer in the UK.

The charity relies on fundraising and partnerships efforts to cover the cost of its research and campaigns.

If you’d like to support the Calder team you can make a donation online or at any of their branches in the region, including Paragon Veterinary Referrals, in Wakefield.
